One of the most important aspects of planning a wedding is choosing venue as it can set the tone for entire wedding. Here are some tips for choosing that perfect venue for your special day.

Budget – Budget of course has a lot to do with the venue you choose. Decide first on what kind of venue you d like for your wedding then research the costs. If you are looking for a ballroom in a hotel for instance and your budget is tight, look for off-season timeframes when you might get more of a deal.

Having a wedding in a friend or relative s home is also a way to save on money and add a personal touch to the occasion.

There are many municipal locales you can choose from as well for a wedding locale such as the beach, in a beautiful park or gardens. Prices will vary depending on season, demand, and how much you will have to rent to accommodate the reception and ceremony. For example, if you have a wedding in municipal gardens, you may have to rent your own tables and chairs or supply your own caterer.

Before deciding on a venue, make sure research on online to see how people rated the facility or ask the venue if it has references.

Theme/Making Sure Your Guests Feel Comfortable:

Choosing a wedding theme might help you decide on a wedding venue. For example if you want a natural or outdoorsy theme having the wedding on the beach or in a park would be appropriate. That said, if you are going to do either the ceremony and/or reception outdoors make sure it is during a time of year (spring, summer or early fall) when your guests might be more comfortable being outside. When you go to visit a venue for your wedding, make sure to ask questions such as the following:

– How many people can the space comfortably accommodate?

– What is the cost per person?

– Does the venue cater? What are the alcohol/wine costs?

– What color table linens does the venue provide? Some venues only have one color so if you have a color scheme in mind, you may have to rent your own table linens.

– How early does the venue set up the tables and chairs? What time can your florist, band/DJ, linen and table renters arrive?

– If you are hosting the ceremony and the reception at the venue, do they have two separate venues for each? Of if they are going to be in the same place, how long does it take to take pull down the “ceremony” chairs and put up the dining tables and chairs?

– Does the venue accommodate a band or a DJ and is there a place to dance?
