Our Sandals Trip Review is for those who feel like life has been passing them by. Do you need a break from your busy schedules? Have you disconnected with your spouse? Where can you go to take away your worries for awhile and clear your mind. Go no further than this review.
My wife and I had only been out of the country once to the Bahamas in the late 80’s and wanted to try an all-inclusive resort where all the food, drinks, activities and rooms were one price. We had seen the Sandals commercials on television and wanted to experience Jamaica.
I had heard about Jamaica’s, Negril Beach which is famous for its seven mile stretch of white sand and clear waters of the Caribbean. We decided to book out trip online and picked the month of April. The rain season starts in Jamaica from May though October and the Hurricane season starts late summer to fall.
We live in the Snowy Northeast of USA and needed a break from the cold.
Out flight took us into Montego Bay and we cleared customs with out any problems. The resort is about 1 1/2 hours away on coastal roads facing the Northwest part of the Island. We met a few couples on the Van ride provided by Sandals and our driver kept us entertained.
When we arrived at the resort, we were greeted by the Sandals staff with smiles, rum punch and cold towels for our faces. We stayed at the Royal Cottage Room which met our standard, but we don’t spend a lot of time in our room except to sleep, shower and change our clothes. We love to be outside on the beach and in the water.
The food was fine and there is plenty of it that’s available from 7:00a.m. until late at night. There is such a wide selection of food that should fit anyone’s taste. The entertainment staff went above the call of duty to make sure we were having fun. It did not take them long to remember your names.
The pools and beach was awesome. The chairs do fill up fast and I recommend you claim your spot with your favorite book early. One of the best part was meeting new people from all over the world and we still stay in touch. The internet does wonders.
We looked forward to the nightly shows at the Bayside. The ladies were dresses to impress but you can dress casual. This really became a vacation for my mind and soul. I did not use a computer, read the newspaper, watch TV and escaped from everyday life for seven days and it was awesome. I hope you get a chance to experience the same thing.
We had a chance to talk with other couples who have shared some of their visits to other Sandals resorts. One of the favorites is The Sandals in Antigua that was voted the most romantic resort in the world. St Lucia is another popular Sandals location.
