The Kitesurf For Kids Big Air Contest 2014}
Submitted by: Kiteboarding Stuff
It is all over the news and everyone is talking about it. With over 50 competitors and hundreds of guests, relatives and spectators from around the country gather around the beach of the Muriwai Beach to witness the great Kitesurf for Kids Big Air Contest to watch the ultimate kiteboarding experience that everyone should ever know.
The very reason of the kiteboarding or kitesurfing competition is to raise awareness and money for all the less fortunate children. With that, there are more than $6000 they have raised and to be given to the Starship Foundation and all the beach spectators were treated to a feast that they will all remember for the rest of their lives. It is a feast of daring tricks and airborne manoeuvres last Saturday, September 20, 2014.
With so much to see and so much to expect, guests and participants are greeted by the heavy rain earlier in the morning and then the sun broke through the clouds just before the contest got under way with 30 knot winds. Its pretty amazing and all the people are very excited, you can see it all to their eyes.
The event, which had three divisions, also doubled as the first leg of the JC Kitesurf Auckland series. There are professional kiteboarders and medium kitesurfing athletes who have raised the fun on that day. One of the kiteboarders, Antoine Jaubert, won the open mens title. He mixed some style when it comes to his kiteboarding tricks. You can see that in his jumps and even when he was pulling off a double kite loop and the guests and audience love it so much that they even have the loudest cheers in the history of kiteboarding experience.
Even though he had a nervous moment in the semi-finals when he was involved with a mid-air collision between or with a fellow competitors kite, he still manages to get a hold and go on with his routine. Thats how exciting the game went on. Event organisers also competed, with Massey’s Kent McNish making it to the semi-finals and Juan Cumar finishing third.
Everyone was at their feet and of the less-than-two-year category was local kitesurfer Mark De Beer and Tanja Notter took out the win in the women’s division. It was a great performance between the men and the womens division. Its all about the precision and the skills that they can show towards the audiences. It looks really amazing and extraordinary; it is not like your ordinary kiteboarding competition ever. This is far better than the rest.
Donations can still be made online and all proceeds go to help the kids in need at Starship children’s hospital. When you are ready to make your donation, remember that all the proceeds will be going to the charity and every child will benefit from it. It is for a good cause and everyone enjoyed the competition.
We hope everyone had enjoyed the Kitesurf for Kids Big Air Contest and we will see you all soon for the next event. Congratulations to all the lucky winners!
